The rythmn of the mosaic chart is very enjoyable. While I'm not knitting very much on this right now, only for about an hour each evening, I look forward to these knitting session. I'm really hopeful that at some point this week I'll reach the mid-point of the chart and get to make the texture secction and then maybe even start color C4, blue. I'm not sure why exactly I set this aside for so long, I am at the mosaic charts, the fun part! It's good I wrote down the order for the colours as I had forgotten their order. I need space in my stash cubbies and really need to feel as if I finish something for myself. So I'm ripping out the Bog Jacket and using it to knit a simple easy cardigan/jacket. As the yarn is bulky I'm making sure to knit with some extra internal ease so it fits. Read more: cast on →
This blanket is progressing very slowly. Mostly because I’ve not prioritised time to work on it. But it’s also growing fast because it’s the second time I’ve started it, this time in a colour it will be easier to blend in with longer term as I shift colours. After not touching the blanket for over a year, i frogged it. I then cast on well, I’m honestly not sure how many stitches as I did stitch maths on an ephemeral post-it that’s now been lost (oops). It’s somewhere about 32-24 inches in width. I’m working a slipped stitch rib of sorts and it’s going much faster, this is after only a few evening TV knit sessions. I’m finally almost to the point of finishing the yoke and dividing for the body and the sleeves. I love the fabric my 3.25mm needles create and the subtle texture of the pattern stitch. I’m not sure I like the complete twisted rib for the collar. Since the rib pattern is for regular stitches I feel that some of the flow is lost. Read more: As summer wanes, progress →
As I stated back in February, this lulu pullover practically knit itself. However, I discovered I needed to be the one holding the needles and yarns. With everything happening earlier this year, I set this pullover aside for several months and when I pulled out the WIP I was disappointed to discover it wasn’t finished.
