Silky Twist Poncho by Iris Schreier
per Lucinda’s mod (Ravelry link), I plan to knit the extra yarn into a separate cowl instead of an attached collar.
key tip: add round marker so the final stitch doesn’t become part of the next rnd and cause confusion.
great tv or car knitting.

wearing it every day
18 April 2025
I promise I take this poncho off to sleep! It goes with basically everything in my wardrobe and it's incredibly comfortable. It's nice to wear when it's in the mid-30s in the morning and then the temperatures climb to the 50s (or higher) as the sun comes out. I haven't yet knit the cowl from my remaining yarn (or weighed it) but I discovered my purples and blues handspun shawl is a nearly similar match of colours and I've been wearing that in the morning if I need a bit of something extra.
I'm definitely curious to see how this yarn wears. It's so soft and lofty, will it put up with my abuse?
binding off!

An unexpected site visit gave me extra time to knit. I also ran out of space to put food in the fridge so I can’t cook anymore tonight until E transfers some of the contents to the apartment.
Will I finish by Friday?

I decided to knit the Medium size for a variety of reasons. This morning during coffee -- to my surprise -- I worked the final set of increases for this size. I now have some confidence that I will might make it through the bottom ribbing and the bind off. I still have 4 inches of ribbing to knit.
amid Pesach prep

I find time to knit here and there on this poncho. Slowly I’m getting closer to the bottom ribbing. It’s harder now as Pesach cleaning is in full swing and by the time we finish up at night I’m exhausted and sitting on the couch is enough. Maybe I’ll knit ten stitches. Today was the annual trek over to Monsey for the pesachdik items we “need”. As E drove that meant I could knit a little. I’d love to finish in time for Pesach.

A super simple raglan shape with a delicious worsted weight yarn + a colour I fell in love with when it was released two years ago = I hope to finish this poncho before pesach! It’s good for tv knitting and today I took it on a site visit.
I was not upset about heavy slow traffic on the way home.
