Binding off!
Using Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off. Running errands (as passenger) so hopefully it’ll go quickly.
I've wanted to work up this design for over a decade… finally realized that it won’t knit itself.
It’s well planned… by the time I was bored with the solid section, I began the stripes. As that began to be tedious, I started the short rows. They were apparently so engaging that I knit extra repeats.
The shawl is huge and squishy and I love it. One day I’ll measure it.

Apparently I’ll do 8.5 repeats of the short rows, almost did a full 9 but I want this finished already. That’s what I get for not paying attention and going on autopilot, discovered when I was at 7.5 repeats. Thankfully I have enough of c2.
Each short row is getting longer. I’m over 3/4 complete with this section. I’m very happy with my final color choices. I can’t wait to finish it.
It’s warm enough to sit outside and knit this afternoon. Realized that the Haiku is very shiny compared to my other yarns. Went stash diving with my scale and found a mystery green that fits perfectly.
I may be off by a few stitches but here’s to C2 and short rows.
At 6 C1 stripes. The merino cloud is showing darker for the most part than I expected when presented next to the molly girl. I like it an am definitely cuious how the haiku will look when added to the mix.
Swapping out the Old Maiden Aunt in Cold Sheep for Artyarns Merino Cloud in a tonal dark charcoal grey (2264). I kept questioning the choice so it made sense to make a change, however I don't quite have a good third solid so I hope this isn't too tonal! Now if I could just do my work and knit at the same time.
Two repeats until the second section. However, am now questioning my yarn choice and hoping this works. I've now gotten the rhythm of the increases for the first section. It's decent car knitting. The molly girl has a nice twist and works up well.
I'm working the yarns from grey to ice blue/purple to purple. In black and white they don't have much contrast but I think it'll work. I hope so.
It took a few repeats but I can now read the knitting and not have to think so much about when I need to do the double increases.
