Bound off with twelve inches (30.5 cm) remaining! It’s a small shawl and thankfully big enough I can wear it. I hope when I actually block it it grows a little bit. I’m thrilled to finally knit these yarns. Soon it’ll be shawl season again and I look forward to wearing it.
HPB-shawl
yarn chicken
Yarn chicken with handspun is not for the faint of heart. Finished with 18 in (45.75 cm) of C2 remaining. Let the C3 knitting continue.
zooming along
While not on zooms (thankfully) but knitting as car passenger to/from site visit, evening TV (Grantchester) and during my morning coffee with “the gang” it’s amazing how fast a shawl knits up when at 4.5 spi ! I miscalculated in the car yesterday because I dropped the ball so I’ve altered the fade between C2 (Happy Fuzzy Yarn Polwarth in colorway “gorge”) and C3 (Happy Fuzzy Yarn Superfine Merino in colorway “cobalt”) to be a bit longer. The Colbalt is spun finer (and potentially plied with a much higher twist) than the other two so I’m curious how it’ll look. Or if this morning I further miscalculated and I’ll run out of C2 before I finish this final garterstitch ridge before I switch completely to C3.
Delightful
This shawl is practically knitting itself. Why do I neglect my own handspun? Wish I had more of this purple. I don’t remember spinning it. I think it’s this LavenderSheep Superwash Merino 3ply (chocolate raspberry) — I spun it in October 2012 and is 83 yards.
