This is a huge working swatch to figure out some issues I have with a design I’ve been trying to finish for about 5 years. It succeeded in both solving that issue and giving yarn that has languished for over a decade a chance to form new and better memories.

That went fast. Not the what I expected to knit at the cast-on — I love it. Note: it is not asymmetrical. I was leaning against the door frame.

I actually picked up the right number of stitches for the first sleeve!

Finally finished front and seamed together. I suck and shoulder seam. Armholes too long (9 in/22.75 cm) so will do a dolman ish sleeve. Still need to figure out the neckline.

Finally ripped out original knitting and cast on for a simple boxy tee. Using child measurements (chest 34). 2.5cm hem with 3 extra short rows in back for additional length. Body length 15in/38cm from hem to armhole.

I started a boatneck tank. Then my mother had open heart surgery and I knit in the waiting room. Surgery took much longer than expected because it went from replacing two valves to replacing two valves and a double bypass. Gauge was all over the place and it wasn’t the right pattern. Her recovery was challenging as was she. This sat in my stash since July 2012.
